ABOUT EHCO
EHCO's consulting focus is on performance improvement for health
care providers and payers. EHCO was founded in 1991 by Rebecca Brooks
to offer expertise in streamlining clinical, management, and business
processes without "Big Four" overhead and prices. She works
independently, or assembles a team of seasoned consultants with skills
tailored to the engagement needs.
Ms. Brooks brings a rich health care background of direct patient care,
line management and business to her operations consulting work. Her over
twenty-five years' experience in the health care industry serves
her well in working comfortably with diverse staff in a variety of settings.
Her methodology includes interviews, data gathering and analysis, and
direct process observation. She works at the grass roots level, demonstrating
to clients the critical details necessary for tailored improved performance.
As part of her analysis, she assesses each client group's ability
to change, and considers that degree of flexibility or rigidity during
implementation. She emphasizes customer identification and service throughout
engagements.
Ms. Brooks worked in the management consulting practices of Laventhol & Horwath
and Coopers & Lybrand before founding Efficient Health Care Operations
in 1991. Before that, she performed patient care as a respiratory therapist,
and for ten years was a line manager in a major Harvard teaching hospital.
This range of experience allows her to be valuable in a variety of health
care settings, and makes her credible from front line staff to senior
executive. Her MBA from Boston University was completed in 1985 with
a concentration in Health Care Management, and her undergraduate degree
is from the same school, with a major in Biology.
